ABOUT THE BLOG
What is it like to receive a diagnosis of Thyroid Cancer as a young adult? I never thought this would happen to me. In December 2018, when I was 33 years old, I was told by my doctor that I had a lump on my throat and it is Stage 1 Papillary Thyroid Cancer.
It crushed me. I had so much fear hearing the C word. I remember bursting into tears in the doctor's office. I had since went through a thyroidectomy for the left side of my thyroid and returned back to work.
It really hasn't been easy. Thankfully I had my loving husband, family and friends supporting my along the way. But I remember feeling so scared and lost before I had my surgery. That is why, I wanted to build a blog to share my experience so that if there's another young adult or their family receive the thyroid cancer diagnosis, they won't feel as lost as I was. This site is a collection of my own experiences and resources I found that helped me along the way. Hope you find it comforting to read what I went/am going through.
